Russian President Vladimir Putin has publicly endorsed Trump’s Gaza plan, calling it a step that could bring hope to the Middle East. He said the proposal includes important measures such as humanitarian aid and hostage releases. Putin stressed that if the plan helps move toward a two-state solution, Russia would be ready to support it.
Speaking about international diplomacy, Putin emphasized that solutions for Gaza must respect history, culture, and identity. He warned against any unilateral steps that ignore the rights of the people in the region. He added that Russia believes long-term peace is only possible through a fair agreement between Palestinians and Israelis.
The Trump Gaza plan includes provisions for international administration in Gaza. Putin questioned how long such an administration would remain in place and when control would eventually return to local leadership. He underlined that Palestinians should ultimately govern their own land, while Israel’s security must also be guaranteed.
Alongside his comments on Gaza, Putin also addressed U.S.-Russia relations. He said Moscow is ready for a reset of ties with Washington. He expressed confidence that dialogue under Trump would be more straightforward and constructive compared to recent years.
Putin dismissed Western criticism of Russia as weak, pointing out that NATO itself would look weaker if such claims were true. He said attempts to isolate Russia had failed, and the country remains strong on the global stage.
The Kremlin also reiterated its long-standing support for a two-state solution, stating it remains the only realistic path to lasting peace. Putin made it clear that Russia will continue defending its national interests while staying open to renewed talks with the U.S.
