Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar has revealed the mental and physical impact of playing a rape victim in the hit drama Case No. 9. The actress shared her experience in an Instagram story, describing how filming intense and emotional scenes was extremely challenging.
Saba Qamar explained that performing such traumatic scenes was “not easy” and left a lasting effect on her health. She admitted that staying in character for long periods affected her mind and body. “Being emotional during these scenes affects the actor deeply,” she wrote, highlighting the pressure actors face when portraying sensitive roles.
The actress also posted a clip from the talk show Kya Drama Hai, where her colleagues Shamoon Abbasi, Nadia Khan, and Atiqa Odho praised her performance. Sharing the video, Saba Qamar expressed gratitude for their kind words and reflected on the difficulties she encountered while filming.
Despite the challenges, Saba Qamar is now focusing on taking care of her health. She revealed that she continues to cope with issues caused by the demanding role. “I am trying to deal with the health problems that arose from filming these scenes and constantly remind myself to stay strong,” she wrote, thanking her fans and peers for their support.
In Case No. 9, Saba Qamar plays Sahar, a successful professional whose life changes dramatically after she accuses her boss, Kamran (Faisal Qureshi), of sexual harassment. The drama addresses workplace harassment, abuse of power, and the social struggles faced by women who speak out.
The series is written by journalist Shahzeb Khanzada and directed by Syed Wajahat Hussain. The cast also features Amna Sheikh and other prominent actors, making the drama both socially relevant and critically acclaimed.
