Punjab Announces Free Loan Scheme of Up to Rs.100 Million for Businesses

The Punjab government has announced a new business financing plan aimed at supporting industrial growth and boosting economic activity. Under the new scheme, businesses will be able to get a free loan of up to Rs.100 million.

Punjab Minister for Industries and Commerce Chaudhry Shafay Hussain shared the details during a meeting at the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) House in Lahore.

The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Sargodha Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The delegation was led by its president, Khawaja Yasir Qayyum.

During the discussion, the chamber raised concerns about the industrial sector in Sargodha, especially issues related to the Small Industrial Estate.

Officials from the Punjab Small Industries Corporation, including Managing Director Mubeen Elahi and PBI Director Dr. Imran Hashmi, also attended the meeting.

In response to these concerns, the minister said the Punjab government will start a multi-billion-rupee development program this year. The plan will improve infrastructure in 23 Small Industrial Estates across the province, including Sargodha.

As part of the wider support package, the government will also launch a Rs.300 billion Easy Loan Scheme in October 2026. The scheme will be introduced in partnership with the Bank of Punjab.

Under this program, eligible businesses can apply for a free loan of up to Rs.100 million. These loans will be interest-free, making it easier for small and medium-sized businesses to expand.

For companies needing larger financing, bigger loans worth billions of rupees will also be available. These will be offered at very low markup rates.

The minister said the free loan scheme is designed to support industrialists and traders. He added that it will help businesses grow while reducing financial pressure.

Chaudhry Shafay Hussain also assured the business community of full support. He said he would stand with industrialists if they faced unfair treatment from public or private institutions.

During the meeting, the Sargodha Chamber also shared plans to organize Mango Festivals in Spain and South Africa next month. The goal is to promote Pakistani mangoes in international markets.

The minister welcomed the export initiative and promised government support.
