The Supreme Court of Pakistan has intervened to block Rana Saeed’s removal as Chairperson of the Wildlife Board and suspended the decision to place the board under the Interior Ministry’s jurisdiction. During the hearing about commercial activities in Margalla National Park, Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa criticized the increasing control of the country by military and bureaucratic figures, noting that the Attorney General seemed uninformed about the proceedings.
The court summoned key officials, including Cabinet Secretary Kamran Ali Afzal and Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, and questioned the connection between the Cabinet Secretary and the private Monal restaurant owner, Luqman Ali Afzal. Chief Justice Isa questioned the legality of the Interior Ministry’s involvement and the removal of the Wildlife Board chairperson.
