CM Maryam Announces Major Relief for Suthra Punjab Workers

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed authorities to ensure timely salaries for all workers under the Suthra Punjab program.

She ordered that workers must receive their salaries before the fifth of every month. She also warned companies against delaying payments.

The chief minister directed authorities to take legal action against companies that fail to pay workers on time. The move aims to protect workers from unnecessary financial difficulties.

According to the latest directives, payments have already been completed for workers employed by 149 of 151 companies. These companies are operating under the Suthra Punjab program across the province.

Maryam Nawaz said salary delays and financial irregularities would not be tolerated. She also stressed that negligence in cleanliness operations would face strict action.

The chief minister has ordered stronger monitoring of cleaning operations across Punjab. Officials will now be required to spend more time inspecting field activities.

She directed the managing director of WASA to spend at least two hours daily in the field. Tehsil Municipal Officers and Field Monitoring Officers also received specific instructions.

They have been directed to visit at least five union councils every day. Their visits will focus on checking cleanliness and monitoring field operations.

The government will also introduce key performance indicators for senior officials. These KPIs will apply to Suthra Punjab managing directors, FMOs, and TMOs.

Performance reports of cleaning companies will also be reviewed regularly. The chief minister will monitor the performance of companies operating in different cities.

Officials who fail to meet required standards could face disciplinary action. Maryam Nawaz said poor-performing officials should not continue receiving important postings.

She specifically directed that an underperforming Suthra Punjab managing director should not receive another posting for three years.

The chief minister also took notice of staff absenteeism in urban and rural areas. She ordered authorities to take action against workers found absent without justification.

Officials have also been instructed to improve routine cleaning activities. This includes vacant plots, waste enclosures, streets, and major roads.

The government has directed teams to repair damaged walls and doors where required. Mechanical sweepers must also remain operational to support cleaning efforts.

Desilting activities should continue to improve drainage systems across affected areas. Officials have also been told to respond quickly to public complaints.

Maryam Nawaz stressed that cleanliness standards should visibly improve each day. She said field officials must remain active instead of staying inside offices.

The latest instructions are aimed at improving accountability and service delivery. The government also wants stronger oversight of cleaning companies across Punjab.

Under the revised monitoring approach, officials will face greater responsibility for field performance. The administration is expected to closely track progress and address shortcomings.
