Pakistan Railways Set to Unveil New Train Schedule on March 15

The Pakistan Railways (PR) has announced its plan to release a new schedule for trains on March 15 and operate special trains during Eid ul Fitr, which is expected to be celebrated on April 9. The PR chief executive officer stated that efforts are underway to improve the Mainline-I Track in the Sukkur Division, and Mainline-II train services have resumed. More trains will be added based on the availability of resources.

The PR aims to gradually increase the number of trains and work towards reducing engineering restrictions. The restoration of specific trains, such as Akbar Bugti Express, Khushal Khan Khattak Express, and Sandal Express, depends on the availability of resources. The statement also highlighted a reduction in salary delays, expressing the organization’s commitment to improving income and further reducing such delays in the future.

Regarding new coaches, the PR mentioned that the project to manufacture 230 new coaches is progressing as planned. Out of these coaches, 46 have arrived from China, and the rest are being manufactured in Pakistan.

The statement emphasized the broader scope of the new online application compared to the old railway application and noted ongoing improvements. It was clarified that train seats are reserved for passengers and cannot be reserved for employees, with a commitment to enhancing facilities for travelers. The PR’s initiatives aim to enhance railway services, improve infrastructure, and address operational challenges to provide better services to the public.
