KARACHI โ A tragic road accident occurred in Karachi where a speeding vehicle caused the death of two young friends. Police said a Trailer crushes incident killed two teenagers late Thursday night.
The victims were identified as 18-year-old Danish and 20-year-old Mubashir. Both were close friends and residents of Landhiโs Future Mor area. The accident took place near Mansehra Colony around 10:30pm.
According to police reports, the Trailer crushes incident happened when a fast-moving trailer hit their motorcycle. The impact was so strong that both riders died on the spot.
Authorities said the trailer driver, Anwar Hussain, was arrested shortly after the accident. His accomplice, however, managed to escape from the scene. Police also seized the trailer involved in the crash for investigation.
Officials confirmed that initial findings point to speeding as a major factor. The Trailer crushes case has raised concerns about heavy vehicle traffic and road safety in Karachi.
Residents of the area gathered at the scene after the accident. They expressed anger over frequent heavy vehicle accidents in residential zones. Locals demanded stricter traffic enforcement and better road safety measures.
In another similar tragedy earlier this month, Karachi witnessed another fatal road accident in Nazimabad No. 1. Two sisters lost their lives after being run over by an oil tanker. The accident occurred when their motorcycle skidded on the road.
The tanker driver in that case was also arrested by police. Authorities shifted the vehicle to a nearby police station for further investigation. The victims were later taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
Officials said such accidents highlight the urgent need for improved traffic control. The repeated Trailer crushes incidents show rising risks for motorcyclists on busy roads.
