Mickey Arthur and Coaching Team Resign from Positions

Mickey Arthur, Grant Bradburn, and Andrew Puttick, who were reassigned to roles at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore in November 2023, have tendered their resignations from their respective positions. This follows their recent appointments, with Arthur serving as the Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, Bradburn as the head coach of the national men’s side, and Puttick as the batting coach.

In April 2023, Mickey Arthur took on the role of Director of the Pakistan men’s cricket team, marking a significant position change. His coaching career includes stints with various international teams, including serving as the head coach of the Pakistan Men’s Cricket Team from 2016 to 2019, achieving notable successes such as attaining the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test team rankings and winning the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy.

Grant Bradburn, who had been appointed head coach of the Pakistan national men’s side earlier in the year, has contributed to the coaching staff’s strategic leadership. His experience in coaching roles extends to various teams, and his expertise has been a part of Pakistan cricket’s ongoing development.

Andrew Puttick, the former South African cricketer, had been serving as Pakistan’s batting coach since April 2023. His coaching role aimed at enhancing the batting skills of the national team’s players, contributing to their overall performance.

The trio’s resignation from their positions at the NCA raises questions about the dynamics within the coaching staff and the future direction of Pakistan cricket. The circumstances leading to their decision to step down have not been explicitly stated, leaving room for speculation within the cricket community.
