Dozens killed and missing in Israeli airstrike on Gaza

Gaza

At least 34 people have been killed, and dozens are missing after an Israeli airstrike hit a five-storey residential building in Beit Lahia, Gaza, on Sunday, according to Gaza’s civil defense agency.

Mahmud Bassal, a spokesman for the agency, reported that the chances of rescuing more survivors were decreasing due to continuous shelling. Additional attacks on refugee camps and the southern city of Rafah resulted in more deaths, with civilian casualties mounting across the region.

The overall death toll in Gaza has reached 43,846, according to the Hamas-run health ministry. Most of the casualties are civilians. Hamas has condemned the strikes as part of Israel’s “genocidal war.”

In neighboring Lebanon, Hezbollah spokesman Mohammed Afif was killed in an Israeli strike, marking a rare attack outside Hezbollah’s strongholds. Additionally, Israeli airstrikes on southern Lebanon targeted villages and military positions, killing two Lebanese soldiers.
