Iran Issues Stark Warning to Israel Over Missile Strikes

Iran

Iran’s armed forces joint chief of staff, General Mohammad Bagheri, has issued a serious warning to Israel, stating that Iran will launch missile strikes with “multiplied intensity” if provoked further. This statement follows Iran’s recent missile attacks on Israeli military targets, which it justified as a response to what it called Israel’s “continuous crimes.”

In his remarks, Bagheri referenced a challenging two months for Iran, pointing to the assassination of Palestinian leader Ismail Haniyeh and the pressure from the West for Iran to exercise restraint regarding the ongoing conflict in Gaza. He accused the Israeli regime of increasing its aggressions with the backing of the United States.

Bagheri claimed that Iran’s missile operation successfully struck key military sites, including the headquarters of Mossad and two major airbases. He emphasized that while the attacks targeted military assets, Iran chose not to strike the economic infrastructure of Israel, a decision he noted could change if Israel continues its aggression.

In response, Israeli military officials have vowed to retaliate at a time and place of their choosing, asserting that the recent Iranian strikes will have consequences. The Israeli Defense Forces reported intercepting many of the missiles aimed at Israel with their Iron Dome defense system, minimizing civilian casualties.

World leaders, including UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, have called for de-escalation and condemned the escalating conflict in the region, with U.S. President Joe Biden ordering military support for Israel amid the tensions.
