The army said that a shooter wounded many Israeli troops and murdered three of them close to the Egyptian border.
According to the Israeli military, two soldiers were shot and killed on Saturday morning. Unable to reach them, an officer eventually found their bodies. The suspected attacker was then surrounded while a search operation was carried out.

A third Israeli soldier and the shooter were both killed during a firefight. Only a few hours before, a cocaine smuggling operation near the border had been stopped.
