The first batch of F-16 jets has arrived in Ukraine, according to Lithuania’s foreign minister and a U.S. official. This delivery, which Kyiv hopes will help restore its depleted air force, includes fighter jets known for their destructive power and widespread use. The F-16s are equipped with a 20mm cannon and can carry various munitions.
Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis celebrated the arrival on X (formerly Twitter), while a U.S. official confirmed the delivery was complete. Denmark and the Netherlands have committed to supplying Ukraine with 43 F-16s combined, with Norway also donating six jets. Training for Ukrainian pilots and ground staff has been ongoing.
