A man was shot and killed inside a private clinic in the Pak Colony area of Karachi on Friday. The incident occurred in the old Golimar neighborhood and caused panic among patients and staff.
According to police, the victim was identified as Abdul Rasheed. He was receiving medical treatment at the clinic. He was reportedly on a drip when an armed suspect entered the room.
The suspect opened fire and hit Rasheed in the head. He died on the spot before medical staff could respond. The attacker then escaped from the scene.
Police reached the clinic shortly after the incident. They sealed the area and began collecting evidence. CCTV footage from nearby shops is also being reviewed.
Initial investigations suggest the motive was a personal dispute. Police said Rasheed was a social worker. He was also involved in the property business in Karachi.
Officers said there were no signs of robbery. The attacker targeted only Rasheed and did not harm anyone else. This supports the theory of a planned attack.
Witnesses told police that the suspect arrived suddenly. He did not speak to anyone before opening fire. The entire incident lasted only a few seconds.
After the shooting, fear spread in the clinic. Several patients left the facility. Staff members said they were shocked by the violence.
Police said the suspect is still at large. A search operation has been launched in nearby areas of Karachi. Checkpoints have also been set up.
Investigators are questioning the victim’s family and close contacts. They want to identify any recent disputes or threats. Mobile phone records may also be examined.
Law enforcement officials said cases like this are often linked to personal conflicts. They added that more details will emerge after further investigation.
The body was shifted to a nearby hospital for legal procedures. A post-mortem examination will help confirm the cause of death.
This incident adds to concerns about safety in Karachi. Residents have called for better security in public places, especially clinics and hospitals.
Police urged citizens to report any suspicious activity. They said public cooperation is important to catch the suspect.
