ISLAMABAD โ Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has dismissed claims of a โdealโ or special relief for former Prime Minister Imran Khan, calling such reports โfalse and misleading.โ
Speaking to the media, Attaullah Tarar clarified that there is โneither any deal nor any leniencyโ for Imran Khan. He emphasized that rumors suggesting government concessions for the PTI founder have no factual basis.
The ministerโs statement came amid concerns over Imran Khanโs eyesight. A medical board examined him at Adiala Jail and confirmed improvement in his vision. The report noted progress in his right eye and normal vision in the left eye.
Government officials have consistently rejected opposition claims that Imran Khan is being denied medical care. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi described reports of severe vision loss as โbaseless propagandaโ and stressed that all necessary treatment is being provided according to prison rules.
Parliamentary Secretary Danyal Chaudhry also refuted any suggestion of a deal. He said Imran Khan had sought concessions from the start, but the government will not accept any blackmail. Chaudhry added that sending Imran abroad for treatment would only be considered if he faces a life-threatening condition that cannot be treated domestically.
Attaullah Tarar highlighted that the government remains committed to following legal procedures and ensuring proper medical care for all prisoners, including Imran Khan. He urged the public and media to avoid spreading unverified information that could create confusion.
Observers say the clarification from Attaullah Tarar comes at a sensitive time, as political tensions remain high and opposition parties continue to raise questions about Imran Khanโs health.
Officials insist that transparency and adherence to rules remain their priority, and no special favors will be granted to any individual.

The statement from Attaullah Tarar reinforces the governmentโs stance that reports of deals or leniency for Imran Khan are baseless and politically motivated.
