Meta unveils an improved version of its Meta Account, giving users a simpler way to manage logins across its apps and devices.
The updated system allows people to sign in to platforms like Meta Platforms Facebook, Instagram, and Meta’s AI-powered smart glasses through one centralized account.
The company said the new Meta Account is built on its existing Accounts Center. It is designed to make account management easier by bringing multiple settings into one place.
Users can now manage personal details, ad preferences, and login settings without switching between different apps. This aims to reduce confusion and save time for people using several Meta services.
Meta unveils stronger security tools as part of the update. These include passkeys, round-the-clock threat monitoring, and personalized security recommendations.
Passkeys offer a safer alternative to traditional passwords. Users can log in through fingerprints, facial recognition, or their device password instead of typing passwords manually.
At the moment, passkeys are available on Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram. Meta said this feature will expand to more apps in the future.
The company also confirmed that the shift from Accounts Center to Meta Account will happen gradually over the next year. Users will receive notifications when their apps and devices are automatically added to the updated system.
Meta said daily app usage will remain the same. The changes are mainly focused on improving convenience and account protection.
WhatsApp integration will remain optional. If users already linked WhatsApp through Accounts Center, those connections will transfer automatically. They can also remove WhatsApp whenever they choose.
If WhatsApp was not previously connected, it will stay separate. Meta added that end-to-end encryption for WhatsApp messages and calls will remain unchanged.
Meta unveils another major convenience feature by allowing users to create one password for all supported apps and devices. This makes it easier to set up new devices without creating separate accounts.

The company’s Security Checkup tool will continue monitoring accounts for suspicious activity and recommend features like multi-factor authentication and login alerts to improve protection.
