Sheikh Rashid’s Nomination Declined for NA-56 and NA-57

The returning officers have declined the nomination papers of Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, the president of the Awami Muslim League (AML), for two constituencies.

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed had submitted his nomination papers for the NA-56 and NA-57 constituencies. Following the scrutiny process, the returning officers rejected his nomination papers.

Returning Officer Nizarat Shah stated that the objections raised against Sheikh Rashid’s nomination papers were valid, leading to their rejection. Shah cited Sheikh Rashid’s involvement in land controversies, tax defaulting, and the provision of inaccurate information in tax returns as reasons for rejecting his NA-56 Rawalpindi nomination papers.
