Apple is intensifying its focus on mixed reality technology, with plans to release a new, more affordable mixed-reality headset as early as next year. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this upcoming headset is expected to be priced around $2,000, which is significantly lower than the $3,500 Vision Pro. The cost reductions are anticipated to come from the use of less expensive materials, a less powerful processor, and the elimination of the EyeSight external eye display.
Looking ahead, Apple is also planning a second-generation Vision Pro release in 2026, with potential smart glasses similar to Meta’s Ray-Bans and camera-equipped AirPods expected in 2027.

In addition to its mixed reality initiatives, Apple is preparing to launch the next generation of MacBook Pros later this month. These new laptops will feature Apple’s M4 chips, which are designed to enhance AI capabilities. Alongside the MacBook Pros, Apple is expected to introduce new iMacs and Mac desktop computers in various colors.
Gurman’s report highlights Apple’s renewed efforts in the smart home market as well. The company is reportedly developing a budget-friendly, iPad-like display for home use, which would enable users to watch TV, make FaceTime calls, and run apps. Furthermore, a more advanced tabletop device equipped with a robotic arm is also in the works, potentially priced around $1,000.
As Apple gears up for these product launches, it continues to emphasize innovation across its technology offerings, from mixed reality to powerful new computing devices.
