Punjab has decided to include Marka-e-Haq lessons and patriotism-based topics in the educational curriculum.
The decision was made during a meeting of the Information Steering Committee chaired by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bukhari.
The meeting was attended by senior officials from the Information and Home Departments. These included Information Secretary Tahir Raza Hamdani, the Additional Secretary Home, the Deputy Secretary Finance, and the Director General Public Relations.
During the meeting, participants reached a consensus to formally introduce Marka-e-Haq lessons in educational institutions across Punjab.
Officials agreed that these topics would help promote patriotism and strengthen awareness about national unity among students.
The committee also directed that special programmes linked to Marka-e-Haq lessons should be organized in private educational institutions.
These activities will aim to educate students about national values and encourage a stronger connection with the countryโs history.
The meeting also approved plans to produce films focused on the Marka-e-Haq and national unity.
These films will be developed under the governmentโs film funding initiative.
In addition, a separate drama based on the life of Pakistanโs first Prime Minister, Liaquat Ali Khan, will also be produced.
Officials said these media projects will support the message of unity and help spread awareness among the public.
The committee further decided to launch a large-scale public awareness campaign.
This campaign will focus on promoting national harmony and educating citizens about the importance of unity.
Participants also requested that the DG ISPR continue visits to educational institutions to engage directly with students.
Speaking at the meeting, Azma Bukhari said the Information and Home Departments will jointly establish a special monitoring cell.
The purpose of this cell will be to identify individuals spreading hateful content on social media.
The cell will also ensure immediate action against those involved in promoting hatred or misinformation.
The minister directed authorities to strengthen efforts against hate speech during Muharram-ul-Haram.
She stressed that no form of provocation or hate-based content would be tolerated during the holy month.
Officials said the special cell will also ensure timely and accurate public communication.
