Pakistan and Sri Lanka will meet in the second T20I of their three-match series today at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Pakistan currently leads the series 1-0 after winning the opening match on Friday.
The second T20I is scheduled to begin at 6pm Pakistan time. Both teams will play at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, which is hosting all three matches of the series.
Pakistan Aim to Continue Winning Run
Pakistan made a winning start to the series by defeating Sri Lanka by four wickets in the first match. Sri Lanka scored 182 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
The Green Shirts successfully chased the target to claim victory in the opening encounter. The result gave Pakistan an early advantage in the three-match contest.
The home side will now look to maintain its momentum. Another win would give Pakistan an unassailable 2-0 lead, securing the series before the final match.
Pakistan will need another strong performance to achieve that goal. The team will aim to build on its first-match success and deliver a consistent performance in front of the home crowd.
Sri Lanka Look to Level the Series
Sri Lanka face an important challenge in the second match. The visitors need a victory to bring the series level at 1-1.
A win would also keep Sri Lanka in contention for the series trophy. However, another defeat would leave the visitors unable to win the three-match series.
Sri Lanka will look to improve their performance after losing the opening encounter. The team must produce a strong effort to prevent Pakistan from securing the series early.
Final Match Scheduled for October 13
The third and final T20I will take place on October 13 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The outcome of today’s match will determine the series situation heading into the final fixture.
If Pakistan wins today, the hosts will secure the series with one match remaining. If Sri Lanka wins, the teams will enter the final match with the series tied.
Cricket fans can expect an important contest as both sides pursue different objectives. Pakistan will seek to extend its lead, while Sri Lanka will fight to remain in the series.
