From July 26 to August 2, Samsung Romania has launched a promotion in which ten Galaxy Z Flip5 phones will be given to people who pre-register. They unintentionally uploaded a PDF explaining the terms and conditions, which revealed the price of the giveaway items, as part of the campaign.
According to the paper, the 256 GB Z Flip5 is priced at RON 6,599, which is almost €1,335. To compare, the 256 GB Z Flip 4 was priced at RON 5,700 at introduction last year, making the latest model 16% more expensive.

Previous leaks include one from Greece, which listed the 128 GB model at a comparable price of €1,300, and another from France, which suggests that the 256 GB variant will cost €1,200, a tiny rise from the Z Flip 4 256 GB’s pricing of €1,170 last year.
It’s important to understand that VAT rates differ across the EU: 19% in Romania, 24% in Greece, and 20% in France. Regardless, there is a discernible discrepancy in the disclosed prices. The Romanian leak suggests €1,120 pre-VAT, while the French leak suggests €1,000 (both for the 256 GB model). According to the Greek leak, the smaller 128 GB version will cost €1,050 before VAT.
A €70 difference (prior to VAT) between the 128 GB and 256 GB variants sounds reasonable, but the French pricing for the 256 GB variant appears curiously cheap.
The official reveal is set for July 26. While we’re at it, don’t forget that the French leak also mentioned a significant price rise for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (€100-120), however neither Romania nor Greece have confirmed this.
