An Air Canada flight, operating as AC2259 under PAL Airlines, skidded off the runway and partially caught fire at Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Sunday. The flight, traveling from St. John’s, encountered a landing gear malfunction, but fortunately, there were no immediate reports of casualties.

The airport was temporarily closed as emergency services responded. This incident comes just hours after a deadly plane crash in South Korea, where 85 people were confirmed dead in a crash at Muan International Airport, believed to be caused by a landing gear failure.
Both incidents have raised concerns over aviation safety and landing gear malfunctions. Investigations are ongoing.
